Throughout the lockdown experience we have seen the growth of online business with many bricks and mortar businesses adapting and re-focusing to use online technology as a means of continuing to transact business and communicate with their clients and staff. It has been a real learning curve for many but one that will likely change the landscape of how we do business moving forward as many businesses have adopted new and cost effective ways of running their businesses, opening up new opportunities for the future. 

 Who is Proppy.co.nz?

 Proppy has been in business since 2015 and is NZ's only fully online, licensed real estate business with a nationwide team of sales people.  Proppy has embraced online technology as the way to provide home owners with a cost effective way to sell their property, with all the bells and whistles of a traditional real estate business. When lockdown hit we were fortunate to be able to continue to transact and run our business, the only thing we couldn't do was physically show people property but we were able to bridge that gap with virtual property tours and in some cases owners providing virtual walk throughs of their properties using their phones and it worked!

Are you confused about what's really happening in the property market right now? 

 If you listening to the media they are saying a lot about real estate sales being down and the market is going drop.  Of course the sales figures are going to be down as a flow on effect from the country being in lockdown, that's a no-brainer however in reality as we come out the other side,  there are buyers out there keen to purchase properties and yes we would like more listings to service the demand.  Forget the doom and gloom - that helps no one -  a positive attitude always wins the day and being at the coal face of the real estate market, right now I'm not seeing any decline in property prices and I’m certainly not willing it on! I believe we create our own economy through the mindset and attitude we adopt in any given situation. My advice is to filter a fair portion of what you hear in the media and what people tell you – a lot of it is doom and gloom, opinion or speculation, in fact disconnecting from it on a regular basis and focusing on a positive outlook is something I have learnt to do over time and it works wonders - trust me and try it, it's empowering and good for your health!
